WhatsApp Will Not Be Working In Old Smartphone Models From November

Well, WhatsApp has announced that the software will stop working on a large number of old devices very soon. According to them, this popular messaging app will stop working from November 2021. Talking about the brands, it includes LG, Samsung Galaxy, Apple iPhones, and many more. Users who have old models of these brands will not be able to use the latest features of WhatsApp. Those devices will not get any support from November.

WhatsApp has more than two billion users. It is even bigger than its parent company Facebook. Yes, WhatsApp has more users than Facebook Messenger. Whatsapp app developer’s team adds updates and features on a regular basis to its iOS and Android users. It enhances the user’s engagement and this is why WhatsApp is the leading messenger application at this moment.

Although Whatsapp is leading this industry, it does not mean that it has no rivals. There are other messenger applications such as Signal and Telegram. They are waiting for the moment when WhatsApp will show its weakness and they will capture the market by taking the advantage of WhatsApp’s weakness.

However, the current situation is probably making way for its rivals. WhatsApp will stop working on older devices. The company said that it would phase out the support for the old smartphone models. Talking about the deadline, it is very close and the company will stop its official support in November 2021.

According to recent reports, WhatsApp will not be working on more than 40 smartphone models since the end of this year. In other words, WhatsApp will lose millions of users. Well, they could still use the Facebook Messenger application. Apart from this, Telegram and Signal applications are waiting to grab those users. WhatsApp has updated the minimum system requirements for Kai OS, iOS, and Android users. The minimum Android version should be Android 4.1 in order to run this application. For iOS users, the phone should have iOS 10.
