Apple makes three types of MacBook Pro: a 13-inch model that’s about to be upgraded with an M2 chip (available in July); a 14-inch MacBook Pro with either an M1 Pro or M1 Max chip, and a 16-inch MacBook Pro, also with an M1 Pro or M1 Max chip. Half the challenge is deciding which one to buy, the other challenge is finding a MacBook Pro in stock somewhere.
Since its launch in October 2021, inventory for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro has been limited, most likely a result of global parts shortages coupled with shipping issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the M2 13-inch MacBook Pro about to go on sale, we expect similar shipping issues leading to stock shortages of that model.
You can’t buy an M2 13-inch MacBook Pro for now, but there are dealers in the US and UK that have 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros to sell, and you may also be able to buy an M1 MacBook Pro until stocks run out. out of that model. Some resellers even discount the MacBook Pro!

Where can I buy the M2 13-inch MacBook Pro?
You can’t buy one at all right now. The M2 13-inch MacBook Pro will go on sale in July. We expect stock to be limited when it goes on sale, but we expect there will be some resellers that will have stock – and even some that will offer discounts.
Apple may offer the option to pre-order the M2 MacBook Pro by the time it goes on sale. For now, we don’t know when that will be, other than the rather vague “next month” (which at the time of writing was July!)

- Adorama – now model not yet available.
- Best Buy – you can buy the M1 MacBook Pro, no M2 models yet.

- DataVision – you can still buy an M1 MacBook Pro.
- Newegg – mostly refurbished models.
- Simply Mac – all models out of stock.
- Walmart – stocks old models with discounts.

- Amazon – M1 models still in stock with discounts.
- AO – stocks M1 models with discounts.
- Argos – M1 models in stock, availability depends on location.

- John Lewis – stocks M1 models with discounts. Will notify you when M2 MacBook goes on sale.

- Very – Has M1 in stock at a discount, but says it’s low on stock.

- KRCS – Likely to offer a 5% discount once the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 goes on sale. Currently no 13in models in stock, not even an M1.
- Insight still has a 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro in stock.

- Select – still has 13 inch M1 MacBook Pro in stock.
- Western Computer – Currently no 13in models in stock, not even an M1.

It’s a similar story with the 16-inch MacBook Pro – inventory is limited at the moment, most likely a result of global component shortages and possibly also due to shipping issues, but there are US and UK merchants selling the 16-inch. inch MacBook Pro want to sell – and some of them give a discount!
