What’s New About the M2 MacBook Pro?
Before we get into pre-ordering, let’s take a look at what’s new about the machine. It’s really just the processor. Apple hasn’t changed anything about the design or features of the laptop, so if you like the current model with the Touch Bar, it will simply be faster. It doesn’t have a MagSafe or a notch, although in some cases it will be slightly faster than the MacBook Air due to its advanced cooling system.
When will the M2 MacBook Pro go on sale?
The new MacBook Pro goes on sale Friday, June 17 at 5 a.m. PT. (6 hours MDT, 7 hours CDT and 8 hours EDT). In the UK, sales start at 1pm and 10pm in Sydney, Australia.
How can you pre-order the new MacBook Pro?
There are a few things you can do now to make pre-ordering easier and increase your chances of getting one in the very likely case of limited stock.
Step 1: Create or verify your account with Apple Store now
It is recommended that you check the account you are currently making purchases with from Apple. You don’t want to have to enter a new credit card or alternate delivery address when trying to order your new Apple product. It is best to check it now as it is very likely that Apple will take the Apple Store offline before launching the product. To check your Apple Store account, follow these steps:
- Click this link to find the overview of your Apple account activities.
- Sign in with your password or tap or Face ID.
- Check whether your delivery address is still correct.
- Check if a current credit card is listed as a payment method.
Step 2: Save the desired model to the Apple Store app
You can choose the configurations of MacBook Pro you want in the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPad. Just go through the options and then click Add to Saved Items.
Once the pre-order has been opened, you should be able to find it quickly in the Saved Items once the store goes back online. To find your saved items in the Apple Store app, click your icon in the top right corner and scroll down to and tap Saved Items.
Step 3: Set your alarm for Friday
Especially if you are in California where you start very early at 5am!
