VPN services can give you online privacy, unblock regional content on streaming services like Netflix, and give you access to websites or streaming services that are not available in your area. They are an essential tool if you have a MacBook and connect to open Wi-Fi networks in cafes, hotels, airports and other places. We can help you find the cheapest VPN that fits your needs.
Choosing which VPN service to subscribe to can be difficult, and this is made worse by the fact that there are so many offers and discounts. That’s where we come in handy. All the services you will find below are services that we would use ourselves – and we do so on a daily basis.
All these deals save a significant amount of money compared to paying for each of these services on an ongoing monthly subscription. VPN providers tend to offer discounts all year round.
- One of the best discounts is 88% off Ivacy. It’s for a five-year subscription, but for less than $71.64/£57.59 ($1.19/96p month) upfront, it’s one of the cheapest deals we’ve seen.
- Another deal to look at is for FastestVPN’s Lifetime plan – which at 97% off makes it an absolute bargain, considering you pay once and have access to the VPN for life. It’s $20 (about £15).

Top 10 VPN Deals
Fastest VPN Lifetime Plan
Unlike most VPN deals that are subscriptions for a certain number of years, FastestVPN is for a lifetime subscription. We asked the company what that meant exactly and were told”we will never terminate their accounts”.
And for just $20 – about £15 – that’s unbeatable.
Plus, it comes with a year of cloud storage – 2 TB with Internxt – and a password manager.
FastestVPN isn’t the best VPN service out there, nor is it the fastest. It has far fewer locations and servers than most. When we tested it, the speeds were good on IKEv2, but terrible on OpenVPN, which is what you should use to unblock services like Netflix and Disney+ in the US.
Ivacy five-year VPN subscription
Wax: $597 / £480
$71.64 / £57.59
Ivacy’s deal is one of the best out there, at a whopping 88% off the usual monthly price.
It’s a five-year subscription that comes out to $1.19 a month, or 96p if you’re in the UK. The $71.64 / £57.59 upfront payment is a real bargain as that’s what most VPN services charge for two years or even a year.
Ivacy offers a great service that supports P2P downloads, unblocks streaming services (including Netflix and Disney+) and, like any VPN service, gives you security when using public Wi-Fi and privacy when browsing the web.
You can use it on up to 10 devices at the same time, but even if you only use it on one or two, it’s still one of the cheapest VPN deals out there. In addition, as a bonus, you also get a password manager for the first year!
Two-year subscription to PureVPN
Laundry: $262.80 ($10.95 per month)
$53.95 ($1.99 per month)
PureVPN’s latest deal is for a two-year subscription that will set you back $53.95 (about £44) and you’ll get three free months at the end.
By our calculations, that’s not an 82% discount or $1.99 a month as claimed. It’s actually $2.25 a month and 79% off.
Yes, it’s because PureVPN counts the “free” months as paid to make the price look cheaper. It’s a shame because even at $2.25 a month, it’s a good deal.
As with all deals here (and with all VPN plans longer than a month), you pay the full subscription upfront – not per month.
TIP: if you’re using a desktop web browser and move your cursor off the page, you should see a “secret” 5-year deal pop up that comes in at just $1.49 a month (£1.11), but the overall price is of course higher ($89.95) because it’s for 60 months instead of 24.
Surfshark two-year subscription
Wax: $336.70 / £250.90
$59.80 / £46.54
(82% discount + 2 months free)
Surfshark currently offers an 82% discount on the two-year subscription, plus two months free.
This isn’t the absolute best deal we’ve ever seen from the service, but it’s still a great price for two years of access to a top VPN service, which is also one of the few that puts no limit on the number of devices. that you can use at the same time. In fact, it’s almost half the price NordVPN currently charges.

Private Internet access two years, two months subscription
From: private internet access
Wax: $454.10 / £389.61
$56.94 / £43.94
Private Internet Access offers an 81% discount on the two-year subscription.
The monthly price displayed on PIA’s site does not count the additional months as free but as paid months. It’s a cheeky way to make it look a little cheaper than it actually is.
But overall, it’s a good deal for this trusted service: it’s one of the few VPN services that has made the source code for its apps public so it can be audited.

Three-year (+4 months) CyberGhost subscription
Was: $506.61 / £389.61 per year
$89.31 / £68.25 for three years
CyberGhost is a great VPN service and the current offer is for a 40 month subscription. It’s advertised as a three-year deal with four months free, but click through and you’ll see you’re actually charged for all 40 months at the stated monthly price.
It’s a habit that we want VPNs to go away, but since the renewal price stays the same and doesn’t increase (as with NordVPN and Surfshark), it’s still a good deal.
CyberGhost is great for unblocking streaming services, so if you want a VPN for that, it should be a tempting deal.
You can find CyberGhost in our overview of the best VPNs.
NordVPN two-year subscription
Wax: $286.80 / £175.39
$78.96 / £83.23 (incl. VAT)
This deal gives you 52% off the renewal price (as opposed to the monthly price, which is why NordVPN’s discount seems lower than its rivals), and applies when you sign up for the two-year plan.
The UK prices shown here include VAT, so they look more expensive than the prices you see when you click through to Nord’s website (it’s £3.47 per month, not £2.89). It’s still 52% off, but Nord presents all its prices without tax.
NordVPN is certainly not the cheapest VPN service – not even with this deal – but if you want the best all-round VPN – it tops our list of the best VPN services – this is the deal to go for.
Hidden24 two-year subscription
Laundry: $72 / £119.76 per year
$59.88 / £78.96 per year ($4.99 / £3.29 per month)
(20% / 44% discount)
Hidden24 is a VPN service with a difference: it doesn’t require an app. It is suitable for anyone who wants a VPN for absolute privacy as it logs exactly nothing.
Your device must natively support a VPN connection, but Windows, Android, iOS, and macOS all do.
Hidden24 is also a great option if you don’t want to sign up for a long time: it costs about half the cost of its rivals if you only need a VPN for a month.
Express VPN one-year plan (3 months free)
Was: $194.20/£148.18 ($12.95/£9.88 per month)
$99.95 / £76.27 ($8.33 / £6.35 per month for 12 months)
Get 49% off ExpressVPN, one of our favorite VPNs.
When you click through to the deal, the monthly costs you see are the average costs spread over 15 months. But if you consider the last three months as free (according to the offer), the actual monthly cost for the first 12 months is the price you see above.
Like others here doing a similar trick, it’s a sneaky way to make the price look lower, but as you’ll see in our review, this is still a great VPN service.
How to find the best VPN deal for Mac
VPN plans are usually cheaper if you commit for a year or more, which saves a lot of money. Prices rarely exceed $6/£6 per month with multi-year plans and are often closer to $2/£2…or even less.
Many major VPN providers offer discounts all year round, and sometimes even permanent discounts. These discounts may seem impressive at first glance. It’s not uncommon to see a countdown timer telling you when the deal is up – but these are almost always meant to instill FOMO – the fear of missing out – to persuade you to sign up immediately .
Big discounts are part of the course with VPN services, especially if you take out a subscription for several years. This makes it all the more important to look at the different providers and what they all have to offer before making a long-term commitment.
All the VPNs we tested also provide multi-device coverage, so you can use them on your Mac, iPhone, iPad, and more. We’ve collected the best iPhone VPNs and iPad VPNs separately.
